The Public Health Course is an inter-institute cooperative course with the National Institute of Public Health. This laboratory works on research that uses health service research methods to scientifically evaluate the quality of medical care, nursing care, and other services. We aim to examine changes in the circumstances op patients, service users and their families and to further improve the quality of these services using those results. We also focuses on subjective evaluations by service users, therefore we treat quality of life (QOL) and subjective well-being as outcomes. We have been working on developing a Japanese version of a scale for measuring the quality of life of users of social care services. We also have established and evaluated family caregiver support programs and nursing staff training programs, based on the findings from these analysis.
