When will the online application system be available?

The online application system becomes available when the application period starts.

How do I know if my application is accepted?

When your application is accepted by the online application system, you will receive an email with a receipt number. Also, you can see the list of your applications on the online application system after you log in.

I tried to upload a file, but the online application system says it's too large to upload. What should I do?

Photographs should be of reduced image resolution and each file should be no larger than 1 MB in size.
There is no size limit per file in theory, but the total size of all files per applicant is limited to 100 MB. We assume that normal files do not exceed 10 MB. For files that may be particularly large, such as master's theses, we assume that the maximum size an applicant uploads is 29 MB per file.

I uploaded a file with a wrong file name. What should I do?

Nothing. We see only the file content. However, please make sure that the file extension is correct.

It seems you have multiple payment methods. Which one should I use?

If you have a credit card, you can pay by card on the online application system, which is the recommended way of paying because it is the easiest and the most smooth method. You can also pay at a convenience store, at financial institution ATM [Pay-easy], or by internet banking. Web application is available 24 hours a day. However, please be sure to check the application guideline for the period of application registration and payment of the examination fee. Regardless of the payment method, a handling fee is required in addition to the examination fee. Please note that failure to make payment by the due date will result in cancellation of your application.

Suppose a laboratory cannot accept all students due to a limited capacity. Which student will be given priority, the student with the higher score or the student with the highest lab preference?

The first-choice applicants are assigned to labs first in order of their scores, followed by the second-choice candidates. In other words, the order of lab preference takes precedence over the candidates' scores. Please note that there are some minor exceptions where the principle above does not apply.

How many recommendation letters do I need to submit?

None. You don't have to submit any recommendation letters.
